Reuben was born in Cedarville (now Cetronia), South Whitehall Twp., Lehigh Co., Pa.,

a son of John and Catharina (Schwander) Glick.

John was a great-grandson of Johannes Glick (1715-1783), who immigrated from

Germany to America. A common descendant of Johannes related to Reuben is

the Hon. George Washington Glick (1827-1911), who was GOVERNOR of the State of Kansas from 1883-1885.

Per his obituary, Reuben was married three times:

1) Dewitt (no record of this name found except for a granddaughter of Reuben's named Elizabeth "Lizzie" B. (Glick) DeWitt. Needs further research).

2) Elizabeth (Allen) (1807-1848); maiden name shown as Boyd in his obituary and one son's obituary, but shown as Allen on tombstone and other obituary records.

3) Carolina (Desch or Desh) (1841-1904)

It also appears Reuben had a wife named Elizabeth (Boyer) Glick, who was named in several of their children's obituaries.

Reuben is shown on 1870 and 1880 South Whitehall census records. His wife Elizabeth

on those records indicate she was born about 1816, unlike Elizabeth (Allen), who was

born in 1807.
