Fletcher Howard Conner, Sr., 89, passed away September 3, 2021 at his home. He was born December 13, 1931 in Cleveland County, North Carolina, a son of the late George Thomas Conner and Hessie Arrowood Conner.
Fletcher was a long-time and active member of Sharon Freewill Baptist Church. He loved the Lord, his family and his church family deeply.
He retired from Fletcher's Fork Lift after many years of faithful service. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 70 years Hazel Hester Conner; son Bo Conner and his wife Lynn of Belmont; daughter Sissy Rayl and her husband Jeff of Holden Beach, NC; sister Addie Sue Martin; grandchildren Emily Broome, Megan Conner, K.C. Ellen Bell (Mike), Mandy Gardner; many great grandchildren; special brother and sister-in-law Wes and Judy Hester; special nephews David Conner and Pete O'Donoghue and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Fletcher was preceded in death by his brother Charles Conner; sisters Buntsie Williams, Janie Owens, Macie O'Donoghue, Dobber Paxton and Helen Williams.
The family will receive friends from 2 - 3:00 pm, Sunday, September 5, 2021at Sharon Free Will Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Odell Cook officiating. Burial will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Hillcrest Gardens, Mount Holly.
