Mrs John B. Brumleve, of Mattoon received word the other day of the death in San Diego, California, of Barney Hattrup and wife, both having died during the first of December only eleven days apart. Mr. Hattrup and wife left this county about twenty-five years ago and settled in PuI1man, Washington. They were successful in their business in Washington and about ten years ago retired and went to California to spend their declining days in healthful climate.
Mrs Hattrup was before her marriage Miss Bernardine Roeben, cousin of John Runde. They formerly lived in Teutopolis. They are survived by two sons Wm and Fred of California and two daughters Louise and Ella of San Diego, California.
Mrs Hattrup died November 22nd and Mr. December 12th. Furthermore, Mrs Hattrup leaves one stepbrother, Wm Pruemer who left Teutopolis years ago, two sisters, Mrs Barney Rueshhoff of Kansas and Mrs George Herbert of Uniontown, Idaho..
Mr Hattrup leaves four sisters: Mrs Frank Gardewine of Teutopolis, Mrs John Brumleve of Mattoon, Mrs Mary Gibbs of Colton, Washington, and Mrs Anna McKinley of Jokana, Washington.; five brothers: Frank, John, Fed and Joe, all of California and Ed of Roslin, British Columbia.
