LENNOX WAYNE CLEMMONS
JUNE 16, 1955 -- AUGUST 31, 2021

Mr. Lennox "Wayne" Clemmons, age 66 of Lexington, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. Born June 16, 1955 in Wilmington, Wayne was the son of the late Lennox Walker Clemmons and Charity Viola Collins Clemmons. He was a 1973 graduate of East Forsyth High School where he was an athlete.

Wayne had an amazing zest for life, and he never met a stranger. He got to really know his neighbors in the neighborhood while out walking his precious yorkie/dachshund, Lady Bug and was just a good friend to his neighbors and anyone else who knew him. After his retirement, being an AVID golfer, he became part of the group "Gangsome", which was a group of his dear friends who played golf together on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Anyone who knew Wayne, knew he loved the game so much if he could find a willing soul, he would play rain, snow, sleet or hail….literally. He also enjoyed woodworking and metal works. He loved keeping an immaculate yard and would pluck even just one weed from his beautiful lawn.

Wayne was a family man and loved spending his time with them. He was a master griller and loved the every other week family get togethers and always made them special. It was great family time..

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 40 years, Kathy Kluttz Clemmons; his brother in-law, Allen Kluttz (Sue), his niece Elizabeth Kluttz (Jason) and his nephews, Jason Kluttz (Wendy) and Justin Kluttz (Kelly) along with his great nieces and nephews. And of course, he also leaves behind his treasured golfing buddies, the "Gangsome", who will never be the same without him.

A Celebration of Life Gathering of Family and Friends will be on Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 2:00 – 3:00pm at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel at 3:00pm officiated by Pastor Mike Gates. Burial will immediately follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
