Don Glendon Baker died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, September 2, 2021. Don was born on April 15, 1936 in Estacado, Texas to Hugh and Berthene Baker. They moved between Estacado, Lubbock and Fort Worth in the 30s and 40s, then moved permanently to Fort Worth in 1953. He married Vineta Carolyn (Carol) Alexander on February 25, 1955. They were married for 61 years before Carol passed away in November of 2016. They had four children, 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Don worked at a variety of jobs including junior chemist at Convair, owning a hobby shop, cabinet shop and machine shop, and developing BakersAkers and other area real estate developments. He volunteered in the Rendon Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years, serving as Fire Chief for 10 years. Don retired in 1996 and enjoyed traveling, taking classes at TCC, and spending time with family.

He is survived by his son, Bobby Baker and wife Cindy, daughter; Toby Langford and husband Steve; son James Baker and wife Shelli; and son, Jack Baker and wife Brenda. Grandchildren include Jeremy Baker, Ashley Gaither and husband Grant, Sarah Gore, Lindsey Gore, Alex Baker, Chelsea Arceneaux and husband Arlen, Jessica Baker and Sierra Baker. Great-grandchildren include Savannah Baker, Austin Baker, Perrine Gore, Ryder Jasiecki, Garrett Gaither, Warren Arceneaux, Wyatt Arceneaux and Brooks Baker (due in November).
