Ross C. Boucher, of Billings, passed away Nov. 27, 2007, from cancer, at the age of 83.

Ross was born Oct. 14, 1924, in Lewistown, to his parents, Joe and Mary B. He was the youngest of three children.

Times were tough, so Ross ended his formal education after the sixth grade, going to work as a chore boy for a ranch in the Snowy Mountains for board and room. After working around central Montana at whatever jobs he could find, at 16, Ross went to the West Coast and landed a job in a shipyard and was able to send money home.

Later, he returned home to visit his family. At 18, after the attack on Pearl Harbor, he joined the Navy and spent WWII aboard ship in the South Pacific. He returned to Harlowton, met and married his wife, Grace Ross, of 61 years.

Glendive, Ramsey, Billings, Miles City and then back to Billings were places Ross and Grace called home.

Ross owned and operated Big B Builders, a steel building business, until his retirement. Ross was a true people person and could bring a smile to any bartender or waitress. He loved to dance, fly fish and shoot gophers. He was a member of the American Legion Post #70, Judith Gap.

Ross was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Joe; his sister, Anne Johnson; and his son Carver.

He is survived by his wife, his sons, his daughters, 25 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place.
