Rev. John W. J. Collins was the son of Rev. John Wesley and
Mary R. (Towers) Collins. His grandfather and an uncle were also Ministers in
the Indiana Conference of the Methodist Church.

He graduated from DePauw University in 1889 and immediately entered that same
Conference. He remained in active service until his retirement in the fall of
1930. During that time, he had charge of churches at Monrovia, Cannelton, New
Albany, Mooresville, Lawrenceburg, and elsewhere.

Rev. Collins was married on 02 Sep 1891 to Olive Webb at Greencastle. They were
the parents of a son, who preceded him in death; and a daughter, Mrs. Sarah E.
Ingle.

Rev. Collins died at Indianapolis Methodist Hospital.

His funeral service was held at Irvington Methodist Church in Indianapolis with
interment following at Greencastle.

His extended obituary appeared on pages 292-294 of the 1937 Yearbook of the
Indiana Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
