1920 census, Charles is a "Train Master" and Supervisor stationed in Norfolk VA.
1930 census, they are back in Bluefield WV, Charles as a Railroad Engineer.
Charles died 1934 in Mercer Co WV & listed as a Va Ry Foreman.
Note: This is not the Charles W. Akers who married Mary Ann Duncan. Just to clear the record I am providing what I found on this other Charles, so the Charles posted in this cemetery will not look like he had 2 families at the same time.
Charles W. Akers, born to James Watt (J. W. "Wady") Akers & Sarah J. were in the 1870 Christiansburn VA census and the 1880 Mongtomery Virginia census. Charles & Josephine married 1889 in Mongtomery Co Va. They are found in the 1900 Alum Ridge, Floyd Co Va census, and then the 1910 Rockingham NC census. in 1920, Josephine is found widowed in the Mongtomery Co Va census. I searched for his death betwen 1910-1920, but have not found it yet.
