Gordon Allen
Gordon Allen, 89, a lifelong resident of Hudson, died on Thursday, Dec. 17 at Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara E. (Houghton) Allen who died in 2002. Gordon was born in Marlboro, son of the late Melbourne A. and Jennie (Smith) Allen. He was raised in Hudson where he attended local schools. He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy until being honorably discharged in May of 1946. Gordon worked at LaPointes Machine Shop for many years and later for the Hudson Broach Co. in Hudson until his retirement. He was a Life Member of the Hudson Lodge of Elks for 68 years.
Gordon was a proud and dedicated husband and father. He always looked forward to spending time with family, especially later with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He cherished the many summer trips to Hampton and Seabrook New Hampshire where he and his family spent many days relaxing on the beach. He will truly be missed.
He is survived by his daughter, LIVING; his son, LIVING and was predeceased by his son, David Allen of Mashpee in 2013. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Machado and her husband Raul of Hampton, NH; his two loving grandchildren; two loving great grandchildren and his two nephews. A graveside service will be held on Monday, Dec. 21 in Forestvale Cemetery, Broad Street, Hudson.
