Alvin Lee Bartholomew departed this life Saturday morning, August 28, 2021, at his home. He was 83 years of age.
Born on June 21, 1938 to the late James Leo and Helen Anna Tucker Bartholomew, he went by the nickname "Rile". He was a resident of Bolivar and enjoyed playing card games, watching western movies and spending time with his family.
He married the former Barbara Hurst on August 13, 1977. Mrs. Bartholomew passed away on July 22, 2001.
Alvin is survived by two sons, Terry (Laura) McBride and Danny McBride, both of Bolivar; eleven grandchildren, Jennie Roberts, Angelia (Larry) Grantham, Shirley (Elisha) Futrell, Brian (Ashley) McBride, Alexis McBride, Larry Ray McBride, Corey Shields, Jennifer (Johnathan) Young, Hailey McBride, Ashley Herman and Bethany Woods; 28 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Jerry "Shag" Bartholomew and James Bartholomew, both of Bolivar; a sister, Patricia Wilbanks of Ramer, TN; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was a retired supervisor for Kilgore Corporation in Toone after 43 years of service.
