Son of William Frederick and Amanda Elmira (Bellamy) Blazer, whose other children were Mary Ann (M: Woolard), John Frederick, and William Frank Blazer.

FORMER RESIDENT OF THIS COMMUNITY DIES IN HOSPITAL - BURIAL TUESDAY
Henry C. Blazer, 73, a former resident of the Pleasant Hill farming community who has lately resided a short distance north of Harrisonville, died at 5:40 a.m. Sunday in St. Joseph hospital in Kansas City, where he had been a patient for one week. Mr. Blazer had been in failing health two years.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon in the Christian church at Harrisonville by the pastor, the Rev. A. G. Smith. A quartet composed of James Lightfoot, Charles Collins, Lee Phillips and Clara Phillips, all of Pleasant Hill, sang "Alone with Me" and "Going Down the Valley" with piano accompaniment by Mrs. Estella Trabue of Pleasant Hill. Mrs. Bryan Fitzgerald was at the organ. Pallbearers were Robert Hon, W. W. Moore, Jesse Walker, Simon Gray, Walter Kochameier and James Craig. Burial was at Freeman , Mo.

Henry Christopher Blazer was born May 21, 1873, in Henry County, Missouri, near Creighton. He grew to young manhood in the vicinity of Creighton, moving to Cass County while a young man and settling on a farm a few miles west of Harrisonville. The rest of his life was spent in the Harrisonville and Pleasant Hill communities, where he was well known and highly respected.

He was married on March 4 1904* in Harrisonville to Miss Mary Ann Akers, who survives. To this union four children were born - three daughters and one son. One of the daughters, Alberta May, died in infancy. Surviving are Miss Wilma of the home, Irma Fay (Mrs. Walter Smith) of Garden City; and H. C. Blazer, Jr., of Kansas City. He had five grandchildren, four of whom survive. They are Lucille and Margaret Ann Smith of Garden City, and David and Kathleen Blazer of Kansas City. One granddaughter, Lois Marie Smith, preceded him in death.

Mr. Blazer and his wife united with the Christian church during the Oliver revival in Harrisonville a number of years ago. He remained a member of that church until his death. He was baptized by the Rev. King Stark, at that time pastor of the Harrisonville Christian church.
