Lucinda's Obituary as printed in The Souther Standard:
"On Wednesday July 8, 1903 at the home of her grand-daughter, Mrs. Sterling Elder, three miles east of Hollywood, Mrs. Lucinda H. Hitchcock, aged 84 years. Miss Lucinda Clem was born in Tenn., and was the oldest of sixteen children. At the early age of 14 she professed religion and joined the M. E. Church of which she has since been a constant and zealous worker. In 1842 she married Wright Williams who only lived five years. Again in 1848 she married Lorenzo Hitchcock. He died in 1882 at the age of 92 years. She was the mother of five children, only one son, W. H. Williams, surviving. She leaves five grand-children, ten great grandchildren, five brothers, three sisters and her friends were many for she was loved by all who knew her. Mrs. Hitchcock was one of the most devoted Christians we have ever known. She had often remared that during 70 years of service for her Master she was never tired of work. For her work was a pleasure. She had suffered untold agony for months and while we cannot understand why the Lord sent such suffering to one whose life has always been so pure, we can only bow in humble submission to Him who doeth all things for the best and feel assured that she is at perfect rest.
A Friend"

She was also mother of David Andrew Williams
