DONALD'S OBITUARY
Donald E. Newhouse, 79 of Shallotte, N.C., formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, after a long fight with heart failure.
Donald was born July 25, 1939, in Delhart, Texas, a son of the late William and Helen Albright Newhouse.
He was employed as an equipment operator at PennDOT and was a veteran, serving as a corporal in the Marine Corps during peacetime. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved adventure. His interests included cooking, woodworking, drawing and political debates.
Donald will be sadly missed by his loving family: his five children and their spouses, Donald L. Newhouse and daughter-in-law Terri, of Washington Township, N.J., Donna J. Garrity and son-in-law Michael, of Shallotte, N.C., Diane L. McCormick and son-in-law Denis, of Greensburg, Douglas E. Newhouse, of Acme, and Samantha A. Stebok and son-in-law Stephen, of Hopwood; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Joann Flynn, Margie Baker and Hazel Lambert; and his brothers, Willard Newhouse and William Newhouse.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale (724-887-5300). Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, followed by private funeral services. A committal service will be in Hillview Cemetery with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
