Mrs. Janie Mae Beavers Dawkins, age 88, of Rome passed away Sunday, September 1, 2013 in a Rome Medical Center.
Mrs. Dawkins was born January 24, 1925, in Manassas, Virginia, a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Beavers and Grace Jane Ellis Beavers. Mrs. Dawkins was a Christian, she was employed for several years at the Magic Markets and the Good Will. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Robert Dawkins, a son, David Dawkins, grandson, Isaac Dawkins, a brother, James Beavers, and sisters, Mary Daymude, Agnes Davis, Ida Ashby, and Margaret Geris.
Survivors include sons, Sam (Francine) Dawkins, Centre, AL; Billy (Zhuli) Dawkins, Opelika, Al; daughters, Elizabeth (John) Lind, Midway, GA; Martha (Carl) Cross, Rome; Judy Butler, Tybee Island, GA; Kathy Shirley, Pelham, Al. brother, Arthur (Shelly) Beavers, Woodbridge, VA; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
