Samuel Esman Higgins, 79, of Castroville, California, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 1964, in Salinas, California, following a brief illness. Samuel was born in Mulberry, Arkansas, the son of Nancy (Stewart) and Elighe Higgins.
He had been a Castroville, CA, resident for the past 35 years.
His survivors include his wife, Willia (Lewellen); one daughter, Edyce Inez Douglas-Richards-May of Sacramento, CA; two sons, Ralph Edward Higgins, of Los Angeles, CA; and Kenneth Higgins, of Salinas, CA; two sisters, Galena "Edna" Overstreet-Herrin, of Ada, OK; and Eula Durham, of Wanette, OK; and one brother, Elbert S Higgins, of Tulsa, OK; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
