Connie Mae Jackering, age 75, of Fennimore passed away on Sunday August 22, 2021, at Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing Services in Fennimore. She was born on September 1, 1945, in Dodgeville the daughter of Veryl and Lydia (Birch) Stich. Connie was united in marriage to Orlin Jackering on January 25, 1964, at the St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster.
Connie graduated from Fennimore High School in 1963. She was employed in the housekeeping department at the Fennimore Good Samaritan Society. Connie was later employed at the Bahl Cheese Factory in the retail store. She then worked at Wal-Mart in Prairie du Chien in the customer service department until returning to the Fennimore Good Samaritan Society, working as a dietary aide until her retirement. Connie also enjoyed selling Avon and collecting many of the perfume bottles that became collectables.
Connie enjoyed crocheting, writing, collecting Santa Clauses, and loved to dance. In her younger years won a twist dance competition. She even learned to be a talented belly dancer, a style she enjoyed at home for fun and exercise.
Connie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She adored her family and especially her grandchildren. She loved singing, reading, and baking with them. She also liked camping, hiking, animals, painting and listening to Rock and Roll music. Connie was a hard worker always dedicated to the ones close to her, and was an active member of the Stitzer United Methodist Church and the church women's group
Connie is survived by her husband Orlin of Fennimore, three children: Michael Jackering of Fennimore, Brian (Gwenae) Jackering of Gwinn, MI, and Teresa (David) Kreul of Prairie du Chien, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, twin brother Ronnie (Gail) Stich of Topeka, KS, Gloria (Wayne) Stotesbery, Laurene (Randy) Hamann of Lancaster, Gene Stich of Stitzer, Marcia (Larry) Wilson of La Crosse, and Roger "Butch" Stich of Lancaster, and dear aunt Lois Lyght of Boscobel along with many special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Stephen Langner, great- grandson Jaxson Orlin Thompson, sisters-in-law: Linda, Sue and Judy Stich, nephew Locksley Draves and her father and mother-in-law William and Retha Jackering.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday August 26, 2021, at the Stitzer United Methodist Church in Stitzer with burial to follow in the Rock Church Cemetery rural Livingston. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Thursday morning. The Larson Family Funeral Home is assisting the family.
