Aaron Fosdick was born the eleventh child of William Fosdick (1762-1851) and Rena Cornelia Carrington (1769-1853).
On the 12 July 1827, Aaron married Olive Dolly Moon (1809-1873), the daughter of Jonathan and Sarah Moon, in Washington Co., New York. Between 1827 and 1852, Aaron and Olive had eight children: Sarah, Aurenia, Joel, Levi, Delphia, Ruth, Alpha, and Aaron. Before the birth of their last two children, Aaron moved his family to Marshall Co., Illinois, where he served as Postmaster in Steuben between 1851 and 1865. He also had a 260 acre farm. Following Olive's death in 1873, Aaron married Electa (Allen) Chapman, who was her self a widow. Aaron and Electa are not known to have had any children together.
