HARTFORD CITY--Former Hartford City resident, Cordelia E. Limbert McAtee, 97, died at 4:45 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, in The Waters of Muncie, after an extended illness.
She was born April 23, 1905, in Bell Vernon, Pa., the daughter of James P. and Clara E. Cole Black, and graduated from Hartford City High School with honors in 1923.
She was first married to Victor Limbert, who died in 1954. On Sept. 1, 1956, she married James H. McAtee in Muncie; his dath occurred June 3, 1992. Mrs. McAtee resided in Muncie from 1956 to 1967 when she moved to Cromwell, Ind. She retired from DeVinney's Dress Shop in Muncie in 1967.
Mrs. McAtee was a member of the United Methodist Church; American Legion Auxiliary, North Webster; and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Syracuse.
Surviving are two sons, James Limbert (wife: Nancy), Daleville, and Jerry Limbert (wife: Mary), Niles, Mich.; a daughter, Joan Bonnell (husband: Donald), Muncie; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Alfred, Harold and James Black, and a sister, Catherine Wright.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in The Waters Funeral Home, Hartford City, with Pastor Karen Ottjes of Daleville, Ind., officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery, Eaton. Friends may call at the Waters Funeral Home from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
