June H. Fagerstrom of 200 Southwestern Drive, Lakewood, NY passed away at 10:45 p.m. Saturday (August 13, 2011) in her home.
An area resident for most of her life she was born in Boston, Mass. a daughter of the late Charles and Eunice Kendrick Holmes.
She attended Augustana College in Rock Island, IL and graduated from the Moline Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Moline, IL.
June was associated with her late husband's private practice C. Daniel Fagerstrom, MD, and was also a substitute nurse for BOCES for several years.
She attended and was baptized at the First Lutheran Church in Jamestown.
During the 1960's she was instrumental in the formation of the parents group that worked with handicapped children to help make their lives a little better.
She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved traveling, snowmobiling and spending time visiting Cape Cod. She also loved her faithful dogs, especially "Faith" and "Jedi" who were her faithful companions the last couple years.
Surviving are two daughters Beth F. (Jon) Peterson of Jamestown, Krista F. (Steve) Cass of Frewsburg, a son Steven H. Fagerstrom of Jamestown and five grandchildren Jon (J.J.) Peterson, Kacie Peterson, Hunter Peterson all of Jamestown, Katie Cass and McKenzie Cass both of Frewsburg.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Dr. C. Daniel Fagerstrom, MD, whom she married July 20, 1956 and who died August 9, 2006 and by nine brothers and three sisters.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed.
