Martha Estelle Lindberg passed away on August 29, 2017 at the age of 99.
Martha was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 20, 1917 to George and Theo Willard.
At the age of six her family, including her brother Laurence Willard, moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan. She attended Ann Arbor Public Schools and later Hillsdale College and Cleary College to earn a degree in Business.
Martha married her childhood sweetheart, Louis Lindenschmidt in January 1941. They had one child, Martha Louise.
Louis passed away in 1949 after a seven year illness. Martha worked as an Executive Secretary for the University of Michigan for 30 years.
In 1967 she married Edwin Lindberg. They spent many years traveling and wintering in Florida. After 35 years of marriage to Edwin, he passed away in 2003.
She moved into Glacier Hills where she has enjoyed many years with friends and the caring staff-family.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, George and Theo Willard, her brother, Laurence, and both her husbands, Louis and Edwin.
Martha leaves behind her daughter, Martha (James) Swingle, granddaughter, Shelley (Michael) Lloyd, great-grandchildren, Hudson and Estelle Lloyd, and her extended family; the Hertler, Lindberg, Hale, Andres, and Swingle Families. Her Family wants to thank the caregivers at Glacier Hills and the Hospice Team for the wonderful, kind, and devoted attention she was given.
Martha will be remembered for her grace, generosity, love, and devotion to her family and dear friends.
