Annie Pearl (Pearlie) Benderman died peacefully on August 20, 2021, at NHC-Maury Regional TCC. She was born on July 15, 1928, in Maury County where she was a lifelong resident.

She was predeceased by her parents Early and Marcia Yokley Mayes, and her husband of forty-one years, William Thomas Benderman.

A visitation will be held in the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Annex Building at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 25, 2021, with funeral service at noon. The family asks that people wear masks. Interment will follow at Rosemount Cemetery.

She was educated in Maury County schools. Pearlie accepted a job when she was sixteen as a baby nurse for Eva James Jewel (Crichton) with whom she would become a wonderful friend until her death. She also enjoyed the company of other friends, notably Anna Margaret (Granny) Primm, Lena Jan Brown, and "her other daughter" LaRessia Buchanan. She told all of them many times: "it's been a good ride!"

She was a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed services there with her friends until she was unable to attend.

Pallbearers are Terry Jones, Darnell Yokley, Freddie Moss, Ronnie Burns, Andy Crichton, Dexter Brown, Victor Yokley and LaKameron Buchanan. Honorary pallbearers are John T. Pillow, Jr., Calvin Mitchell, Charley Crichton and Tim Yokley. Her family and friends wish to thank Nurse Practitioner Lori James and the staff at NHC-Maury Regional TCC for the extraordinary care Pearlie received during her short stay there.

Pearlie loved flowers and asked that memorials be given to Mt. Calvary Church, 312 East Eight Street, Columbia, TN.
