Raised in Barre, Vermont. 1927 graduate of Spaulding High School. Initially worked as a Baker at Caron's City Bakery, owned by his father in Barre. Enlisted on 17 Apr 1942 as a Private during WWII, served in the Army Medical Corps. Disability discharge after 9-10 months service due to medical issues that were present prior to service, diabetes & Appendicitis. After discharge employed subsequently as a Baker and a Painter. Russell married Agnes Maria Sheridan, a school teacher, on 4 July 1953 in Graniteville, Vermont. For the remainder of his working career, he was as Draftsman for Rock of Ages, a quarry company. Russell died in 1968 from a Cerebral Hemorrhage, with Hypertension of 15 years as a contributing cause.
