Shirley Mae (Johnson) Kallas 78, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2007. Shirley was born on May 7, 1929, in Provo, Utah, to Howard and Aileen Johnson of Lakeview, Utah. She was the second of three daughters. She married her sweetheart, Clyde H. Kallas on May 24, 1947. They were parents to five children who were the center of Shirley's life.



Shirley enjoyed her childhood years growing up on the family farm in Lakeview, and spent many hours on the family's second farm located on Sand Hill Road in Orem near her grandparents and other cousins. She also enjoyed spending time with her other grandparents and family relatives in Springville.



Shirley was a devoted wife and mother and spent countless hours at ballparks, gymnasiums and tennis courts, encouraging and supporting her children and grandchildren in their efforts. She was an avid supporter of BYU athletics and of the Utah Jazz.
She was a member of the Sharon 3rd Ward, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She especially enjoyed serving as a Visiting Teacher and singing as a member of the Sharon 3rd Ward Choir.



Shirley is survived by her four sons and one daughter; C. Robert (Janeal) Kallas, Lindon, Utah; Terry W. (Anne) Kallas, Orem, Utah; Lon C. (Ann) Kallas, American Fork, Utah; Julie (Kim) Marchbanks, Springville, Utah; and Ken B. (Angela) Kallas, South Jordan, Utah; twenty grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde, her parents, two sisters, Lois Jackson and Lucille Adamson, one granddaughter, Shyra Kallas, and one great granddaughter, Ashlyn Kallas.



Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 28th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Sharon 3rd Ward Chapel, 445 South 700 East, Orem, Utah. Friends and family may pay their respects on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, Utah, or Wednesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service.
Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
