He retired from a 30-year career in the Navy 1966 as executive officer of Naval Air Station Point Mugu. While in the Navy he obtained his master's degree in education from San Diego State University. After his retirement he taught high school for 15 years for the Sweetwater School District.
He was a longtime member of the Coronado Men's Golf Club, Optimist Club and Christian Science Church of Coronado. He was a multiple medal winner in the 4th of July rough water swim as a member of the Coronado Masters Swimmers Association.
He was on leave after the war when he met a vacationing Ouida E. Hardy from Lansing, Michigan. They were married May 1, 1946 and had two sons, Curtis, Jr., and Geoffrey Worley. His son Geoffrey preceded his passing in 1993. He is survived by his wife Ouida; son Curtis; and four grandchildren, Kyle and Geoffrey Worley of Coronado; and Jamie and Dane Worley of Tustin. He was a loving and devoted husband and proud, supportive father to their two sons. He will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him.
His wishes are to have his ashes spread at sea by the U.S. Navy.
