Graveside service for Mr. Arvil Lee Alford, 78, of Hokes Bluff will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at New Bethel Cemetery with Rev. Michael Alford officiating the service. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM at Glencoe Hokes Bluff Funeral Home.
Mr. Alford passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021. He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Carol Alford, his parents, Scott and Amanda Alford, his sisters, Pearl Kelly, Mary Lou Alford and Ruby Jenkins, his brothers, Mason Alford, Robert Alford and Lloyd Alford.
Left to cherish the memory of Mr. Alford are his sons: Barry Alford, Bruce (Dana) Alford, Greg Alford, and Chris Alford; grandchildren: Barry Alford Jr., Emily Anderson, Amber, Ashley, Kasey, Christian, Amanda, Ally Alford, Cody and Maghan Alford; numerous great-grandchildren; his sister, Ida Flowers and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Alford loved his family and friends BIG. He loved so big that he would do anything to help anyone in need. He was a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather and friend who has gone to his heavenly home to be with the Lord and the love of his life, Linda. Mr. Alford enjoyed his job at Hokes Bluff where he worked for 16 years as a building inspector. He loved to spend time watching Alabama Crimson Tide Football, fishing, hunting and race cars.
Pallbearers will be Larry Sandlin, Gary Jenkins, Kevin Jenkins, Cary Jenkins, Cody Alford and Barry Alford Jr.
Due to ongoing Covid concerns, the family requests that masks be worn by all in attendance during the visitation.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Gary and Rhonda Jenkins and to the City of Hokes Bluff.
