Priscilla Hubbard Leaf, 74, passed away on August 20, 2021 at her home in Alabaster, Alabama, comforted by her loving children, following a courageous two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Priscilla was a lifelong resident of the Birmingham area, born on March 8, 1947 to Floyd Cepel Hubbard and Julia Ann Lang Hubbard.

She graduated from Ensley High School in 1964. After briefly attending the University of Alabama, Priscilla left school to work as a legal secretary in Birmingham. It was during this time that she met her husband Barton, who impressed her on their first date with a steak dinner at Michael's Restaurant. During their courtship, they enjoyed meals at a number of iconic Birmingham restaurants, including The Bright Star, Niki's West, Joe's Ranch House and Joy Young. They were engaged in 1970 and married on May 8, 1971.

Priscilla converted to Judaism and with Barton they and their children were members of Temple Emanu-El synagogue in Birmingham.

Priscilla and Barton moved to Homewood and then to Mountain Brook, where they raised their two children, Brian and Heather. Priscilla was a devoted wife and mother, actively supporting Barton's career as a pharmacist and business owner, as well as her children's academic and athletic endeavors.

She became a fixture at the little league fields on Montclair Road and at Mountain Brook High School. She was also a diehard Alabama football fan, frequently taking her children to games at Legion Field and imbuing them with a lifelong passion for the Crimson Tide.

Priscilla is preceded in death by her father, Floyd Cepel Hubbard (1914-1973); her mother, Julia Lang Hubbard (1922-2010), her half brother, Floyd Gene Hubbard (1936-1978); and her beloved husband, Barton Marshall Leaf (1937-2021).

She is survived by her son, Brian (Deborah), of Reston, Virginia; her daughter, Heather, of Culpeper, Virginia; and her grandchildren, Jacob and Sarah Leaf.

Priscilla will be buried on August 23, 2021 in a graveside ceremony at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Shelby County Humane Society (Shelby Humane). Priscilla was an avid lover of animals and a companion to many over the years, including her dogs Bingo, Cindy, Andy and Champagne and her cats KC, Bandit, Nemo, Smokey and Harley.
