HARRY LYON

Harry B. Lyon, 78, of the Calcutta – Smiths Ferry Rd., a former powerhouse operator at the Mackintosh – Hemphill Division of the E. W. Bliss Co., and a retired farmer, died at City Hospital Saturday at 11:10 p.m. He had taken ill Saturday morning at his home.

He was born in Greene Township, Beaver County, Sept. 11, 1886, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Lyon. He moved from the Hookstown area to Ohio in 1947. He was employed at the Midland plant for 15 years and last worked in 1955. He was a member of the First Free Methodist Church.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ellen A Lyon, at home; two sons, Cecil B. Lyon of the Calcutta – Smiths Ferry Rd., and Thomas L. Lyon of Mud Ln., four daughters, Mrs. Carl (Twila) Dunn of the Calcutta – Smiths Ferry Rd., Mrs Phillip (Merrill) Boyce,a nd Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) May, both of Beaver, and Mrs. Robert (June) Morrow of Georgetown; three brothers, Roy Lyon of East Liverpool, Charles Lyon of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Clifford Lyon of Georgetown; two sisters, Miss Emma Lyon and Mrs. Orris (Jeanette) Cundiff, both of Chester, 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Martin Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles Little and the Rev. William Jones, pastor of the New Brighton Free Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery at Hookstown.
