FUNERAL FOR MRS. ANNA CORA HILL SATURDAY
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Cora Hill, 60, were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Baldwin Funeral Home by the Reverend Iri Richardson, Baptist Minister. Special music was by Mrs. Adolph O. Goldsmith, Miss Elberta Gibson and Paul H. Gwin. Internment was in Hazel Cemetery.
Deceased had been in ill health for some time and had been confined to her bed for the past four months. She was taken to Cape Girardeau on Thursday where she entered the Southwest Missouri Hospital, and died there Friday afternoon as a result of an embolus. Friday morning she underwent an operation for the amputation of her left leg above the knee. The operation was apparently successful but she died suddenly due to the obstruction in the blood stream. An ulcer of 27 years standing had caused a separation of the bones in her leg, necessitating the operation.
At a young age she professed faith in Christ and united with the Baptist Church and has since lived a consistent Christian life.
She is survived by one son, David Hill of this city and a daughter, Mrs. Rosa Henry of Marble, Ark, one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Leed of Baldknob, Ark, and one brother, Charles Bowers of California, and 19 grandchildren.
