Douglas A. Chase, Sr. 76, of Guyton Street died Friday October 30, 2015 at Health Alliance Hospital, Broadway Campus. Born January 28, 1939 in Kingston he was a son of the late Leeman Henry and Lillian E. (White) Chase.
Douglas was employed at the John A. Coleman High School in the maintenance department. He was a Boy Scout Leader, enjoyed woodworking, loved to travel and was an avid reader.
Surviving is his wife of fifty five years, Barbara J. (Buley) Chase; his children, Douglas A. Chase, Jr. and his wife Rene of Ulster Park, Judith Roebuck and her husband Allan of Lake Katrine, Sherri Morrissey and her husband Michael of the Town of Ulster, Penny Gray and her husband David of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; his sisters, Gladys Cassell of Bristol, Tennessee and Penelope Plumbley of Ohio; his grandchildren, Katelynn Morrissey, Megan Demorest, Brian Demorest, Christopher Gray and Jesse Gray; his K-9 companion, Phee-Phee. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews also survive.
He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Leeman Henry Chase, Jr., Harold "Hap" Chase, Vernon Chase, Vivian Chase, Robert "Bob" Chase, David Chase, Donald Chase, Audrey Dean and Thomas Chase, Sr.
