Mr. Charles Phillip Fizer, age 71, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

He was born Sunday, July 30, 1950 in Mason County, Kentucky to the late Charles Nelson Fizer and Wanda Jean McNutt Fizer.

Charles retired from Ron's IGA in Tollesboro, Kentucky. He enjoyed watching UK basketball, joking with folks, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by one brother, Mike Fizer and one sister, Mary Ella "Ellie" McCarty

He is survived by his Loving wife of 30 years, Kay Ginn Fizer. Four sons, Chad Fizer of Mount Sterling, Kentucky, Josh Fizer of Mount Sterling, Kentucky, Brandon Fizer of Flemingsburg, Kentucky and Brad (Kendra) Hilterbrandt of Mayslick, Kentucky. One daughter, Melanie (Nick) Groves of Carrollton, Kentucky. One brother, David (Patty) Cobb of Edgewood, Kentucky. Nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, along with a host of other family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Tollesboro Funeral Home with Brother John Byard officiating. Burial will follow in the McClurg Cemetery in Concord, Kentucky.

Friends may visit after 1 p.m. until the service hour Sunday at the Funeral Home.

Chad Fizer, Brandon Fizer, Josh Fizer, Brian Fizer, Jody McCarty and Dylan Hollar will serve as pallbearers.

Nick Groves, Melanie Groves and Brad Hilterbrandt will serve as honorary pallbearers.
