"Mrs. Cecil Elsie Dobbins, 61, Platte City, died yesterday at North Kansas City Memorial Hospital. She was born in De Witt, Mo., and had lived in Clay and Platte Counties 25 years. Mrs. Dobbins attended Sunset Hill Baptist Church. She leaves four sons, Paul E. Dobbins of Pleasant Hill in Cass County, John W. Dobbins of 1402 N.E. 72nd, Gladstone, Timothy J. Dobbins Jr. of Santa Clara, Calif., and Jonas G. Dobbins of the home; five daughters, Mrs. Cecil E. Wooten of the home, Mrs. Nelly Powell of Salisbury, Mo., Mrs. Pearl Edwards of 5129 N. Winchester, Mrs. Margaret Capell of 1228 Kansas Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas and Mrs. Patty Simmons of 2511 E. 9th; a nephew, Harold J. Keetchon of the home; four sisters, Mrs. Jennie Reese of Marshall, Mo., Mrs. Mary Gunn of Pleasant Valley in Clay County, Mrs. Laura B. Garrison of Ordville, Wash., and Mrs. Bessie Kelley of the home; and 29 grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Newcomer North Kansas City Chapel; burial in East Slope Cemetery, Riverside." The Kansas City Times, December 18, 1972
