Donald Malott, 64, 4800 Archer Court, Titusville, Fla., a former Muncie resident, died Friday in Vista Manor Nursing Home in Titusville, after a brief illness.
He was born in Indianapolis and moved to Titusville from Muncie in 1963. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Malott was a 1945 graduate of Central High School and had served on the Muncie Police Department. He also had been employed at Warner Gear Division (now Borg-Warner Automotive, Transmission Systems) before joining the police department in the late 1950s.
He was a former member of Yorktown American Legion Post 321 and was a Masonic lodge member in Muncie and Titusville.
Mr. Malott retired from Pan Am World Services, for which he worked as a security guard at Patrick Air Force Base and earlier at Kennedy Space Center.
Surviving are his wife, Juanita Malott; a son, Roy Malott, La Mirada, Calif.; a daughter, Jana Springer, Orlando, Fla.; four grandsons and several other relatives in Muncie and Montpelier.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in North Brevard Funeral Home, Titusville, with Rev. Bob Allen officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens, where Masonic graveside services will be conducted. Calling will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
