Evelyn Lorene Adams, 89, of Boise, Idaho passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at a Boise Hospital, surrounded by her family, whom all love her dearly.
Evelyn was born on September 6th, 1931 in the Cane Hill Township of Prairie Grove, Arkansas to Archie Carl Tresner and Marjorie Hope (Gaddis) Tresner. She had an older brother, Billy Carl Tresner and a younger brother, Darryl Dean Tresner. Her younger years were lived out in the midst of wanderlust. Her Family was well traveled in the shadow of the Great Depression. While she was young, you could say that she lived a late 19th Century life in the middle of the 20th Century at times, not having a home with running water, plumbing, or electricity. The Family, like many of the era had little money to speak of, but family togetherness was in abundance for Evelyn as she made many wonderful memories with her grandmothers, aunts and cousins in this time of her life in several cities in Kansas & Oklahoma. She talked about her extended family fondly referring often to these as her "Olden Days" in conversation. Her Father's trade as a barber found the family in Kimberly, Idaho in the late 1940's, around this time her father had owned a Barber Shop and they settled down in the Twin Falls area.
While in Twin Falls, Evelyn began the next chapter of her life when she met the man who was the love of her life, Marvin E. Adams, who after a courtship, she married in January of 1952, while her husband was deployed in the Air Force during the Korean War, stationed in Anchorage, AK. After the war, they returned to Twin Falls and settled down in a small home by her parents' farm. Starting a family, with Daughter Kay, born in 1952, Son, Joseph in 1954, followed by son's Garry Lee in 1956 and Steven in 1960. Evelyn and her Family had a home built on Sunset in 1960, at that time Evelyn opened her first Daycare. The Family resided in the early part of their married life in Twin Falls, before relocating to Boise Idaho in 1970.
Evelyn and her husband supported each other and built a life together, her husband worked in the printing press business while she at one time worked in a laundry business before opening a day care in 1980's. Evelyn loved children and had an easy hand with them as she operated her own day care until retiring in 1990, shortly after her husband's passing. Evelyn loved to visit with family, and spent time in her retirement visiting and staying close to her loved ones. She resided in Boise, in the confines of the home that her and her husband built together surrounded by numerous Family, Friends and loved ones until her final days. Her Unconditional Love will live on and on.
Evelyn was preceded in death by, her parents, Archie & Marjorie Tresner. Brothers, Bill and Darryl Tresner. Son, Lee Adams and Daughter-in-Law, Janet Adams.
Evelyn is survived by her Daughter, Kay (Mark) Peterson of Eagle, her Son, Joe (Chris) Adams of Boise, her Son, Steve Adams of Boise, Her Grandchildren, Amy (Jason) Yingling, Jennifer Peterson, Travis (Ellen) Adams, Heather (Adam) Ruiz, Zachary Mardis, Jeremy Mardis, Ashley Adams, Joshua (Della) Adams, Amber Adams and Jacob (Rocky)Adams, Sister in-law Doreen Tresner and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends & loved ones.
