Sanford — Neal Robert Baker, 60, of Sanford, Route 5, died in Lee County Hospital in the early hours of Thursday morning after an illness of one week.
Mr. Baker was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John D. Baker of Moore County. He was married to the former Lula Lett who survives. Also surviving are seven sons, Harold Baker of Sanford, Homer Baker, Wilmington, Stanley Baker, Goldston, J. Watson Baker, Neal Baker, Robert Baker, Jr., and Bobby Ray Baker all of Sanford; two daughters, Mrs. D. W. Wicker and Mrs. W. C. Womble of Sanford; one brother, C. C. Baker; one sister, Mrs. Sam Matthews of Jonesboro.
Funeral services will be held at Shallow Well Congregational Christian Church Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. R. T. Grissom. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
