Elizabeth is the daughter of William "Buck" & Margaret D. (Rierson) Dearing. She married William Gentzsch on October 22, 1855 in Moniteau County, Missouri.

Obit: Died April 10, at the home of her son in Jamestown, Mrs. Elizabeth Gentzsch, wife of the late William Gentzsch. She was born in Stokes county, North Carolina being at the time of death 82 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Buck Dearing, one of the pioneers of this county. Mrs. Gentzsch the last survives of a family of 14 children. In 1855 she was married Wm. Gentzsch, who preceded her to the grave 12 years ago to which union nine children were born. Mrs. Gentzsch united with the Presbysterian church in early life. Aunt Betsy as she was familiarly known will be greatly missed at the home of her son. Funeral was conducted by Rev. Pollock of the M. C. Church South. The children are James, Frank, Chas., Anthony, Delilah Haldiman, Christian Ingerham, Polly Meusch. The foral offering were very beautiful. Burial Sunday afternoon at the Cumberland Presbyterian church in Jamestown. Peace to her Ashes. (California Democrat, 15 April 1915).
