He graduated from the former, Cathedral High School in Superior, and attended the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
He was united in marriage to Alice Innes, February 18, 1950, and they celebrated sixty years of marriage before her passing in 2010.
He worked for the Untied States Postal Service as a postal carrier in Superior for over forty years. More recently, he worked for NAPA Auto Parts as a parts delivery man for over twenty years.
Donald was a longtime member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Superior. He loved cooking and jigsaw puzzling. He will forever be remembered for his great sense of humor.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary Jo (John) Manion, and Sue (Dan) Gigliotti, of Superior; sons, Donald Burm, Jr. Superior, Jack (Linda) Burm, Stevens Point, and Bill Burm, Superior; grandchildren, Tim, Mike, Rob, Brian and Sean Manion, Joe Gigliotti, Katie Beauto, Matt and Ryan Burm, Jocelyn Barnwell, and Nicole, Jeff, and Taylor Burm; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Burm, Denver, CO.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Alice; son, David Burm; infant son, Timmy Burm; grandson, Tony Giglotti; and brother, Milton Burm.
