OBIT:Funeral services for Mrs. Irene Bennett Sheppard, 60, of Tchula were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. from First United Methodist in Tchula with Reverend Grady Hudson and Reverend James Carr officiating. Burial was in Pinecrest Cemetery.
Mrs. Sheppard died Monday, January 8, at Holmes County Community Hospital after a one day's stay.
A native of Carroll County, Mrs. Sheppard was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Abner Bennett.
Mrs. Sheppard was owner and operator of Sheppard's Store in Tchula. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Levi Sheppard of Tchula; four sons, Sidney Sheppard, Corpus Christi, Texas, Adrian Sheppard of Tchula, Gene Sheppard and Roy Mack Sheppard, both of Jackson; three brothers, Cecil Bennett, Winona, Guy Bennett and Dolph Bennett, both of Greenwood, and seven grandchildren.
Pall bearers were Sideny L. Sheppard, Adrian Sheppard, Gene Sheppard, Roy Mack Sheppard, and Denzell Sheppard.
