Thomas was the son of John H. Duncan and Jane (Branson) Duncan.
He married Rachel Anna Tippy in 1883 and they had 3 children:
Chester A. 'Chet' Duncan, 1883-1908
Francis 'Fanny' Duncan, 1886-1906
Eva R Duncan, 1890-1920

Thomas and Rachel divorced sometime after the 1900 Census. In 1910 she is remarried to Arthur Bailey Catron. According to that census they have been married 7 years.

A Duncan descendant (a great granddaughter of Henry Duncan) previously confirmed to me that Thomas Duncan died sometime in 1929. The exact date was confirmed to me, however, when I found his obituary today (1/25/23). Death was on November 27, 1928.

The same Duncan descendant is also the one who verified for me that Thomas Duncan was the father of Chester A. Duncan. This relationship is further documented by newspaper clippings that note Thomas as the father of Chester; and at least one that mentions Chester's son, Elmer Duncan visiting his grandfather, Tom.
