Mrs. Lois Opal (Barnes) Hibbard, age 89, passed away August 11, 2007, in Irving, Texas.

She was born March 15, 1918 in Hugo, Oklahoma to James Benjamin Barnes and Jewel Estelle Ridley Barnes.

She graduated from Wellington (Texas) High School with the Class of 1937.

On May 16, 1942, she married Leland John Hibbard, Sr. in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Lois worked as a Registered Nurse and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.

She is survived by her sons John Hibbard and his wife, Barbara of Melissa, Texas; grandson, Robert Hibbard and his wife, Angela of McKinney, Texas; great-grandchildren, Ashley Hibbard, Logan Hibbard and Lauren Hibbard; nephew, Ed Brown and his wife, Jan and their children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2007, in the Turpentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Father Steven Bierschenk officiating. Internment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park.
