"Ruby E. (Anderson) Thomas, 93, a resident of Woodland Manor Nursing Center and formerly of Williamsport, died at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 1998, in St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. She had been in failing health several years. Born in Sherman, Texas, May 17, 1904, she was the daughter of Finnis and Nancy Elizabeth Manus Anderson. She married Bethel D. Thomas, Aug. 15, 1922 in Crossroad, Tenn. He was a farmer all his life. He preceded her in death April 2, 1991.

She had lived in Hoopeston, Ill. for a few years before moving to Warren County in 1945 and to Williamsport in 1981. She attended schools in Burkesville, Ky. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the West Lebanon Christian Church and the Warren County Farm Bureau. She loved music, played the banjo and was devoted to her family.

Survivors include daughter Mildred (Harold) Strong, Sumava Resorts; sons B. Anderson (Audrey) Thomas, Waveland, Austin (Barbara) Thomas, Williamsport, Hoyle (Pat) Thomas, Lebanon, L. Dean (Sue) Thomas, Williamsport; brother Dan (Kathleen) Anderson, Hendersonville, Tenn.; daughter-in-law Deb Thomas, Cookeville, Tenn.; 19 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday at West Lebanon Christian Church, with the Rev. John Buckley officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Williamsport. Fisher Funeral Home, Williamsport, was in charge of arrangements.
