He was born in Hayes. Wis., October 13, 1912, a son of the late Charles and Irene Navarre Gauthier.
He attended area schools in Shawano County. During W.W. II, he served with the U.S. Army Artillery in France, being awarded the Purple Heart. He was employed as an upholsterer for 40 years with the Krummel and Knaack Upholsteries. He was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church, American Legion, Prescott-Bayens Post 83, and the Disabled American Veterans Post 15.
Cyril is survived by two brothers, Leon, of Battle Creek, Mich, and Claude (Joy) of Antigo; two sisters, Sr. M. Rebbeca O.S.F. of Manitowoc and Mrs. Bernadetta (Clarence) Holbrook, of White Lake, Wis. and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary and Lucille.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, at St. Clement Church, by the pastor, Rev. Donald Peters. Entombment will take place In Garden Terrace Mausoleum. The mass will be preceded by family rites at 10 a.m., Friday, at the Habermann Funeral Home, 805 N. 6th St., where friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday (today). A parish vigil will be held there at 6:30 p.m. this evening.
