Her father Eli was first married to Theodocia "Ida" Germany. They had 3 children; Mamie, Robert D., & Ruth. Ida passed away in 1897, on the same day as her 18 day old daughter Ruth.
He then married Margaret in 1898. They had 3 children: Flora M., Hattie & Clara. Margaret passed away in 1911.
In 1912 he married Anna Mitchell, a widow with two sons (David and Charlie). Gordia was the only daughter/child between them.
