Mrs. Anna Knecht, 62, of 29 W. Third St. Bloomsburg, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Sunbury Community Hospital at 12:35 a.m. today. She was visiting the home of her daughter, Mrs. Marie Krieger, 123 Pine St., Sunbury, when she was stricken ill and rushed to the hospital by Americus ambulance.
Born in Benton, Columbia County, Sept. 27, 1907, she was a daughter of the late Hosea and Margaret Edwards Davis. She resided in Bloomsburg for the past five years and had previously lived in Mifflinville for 35 years.
She was the widow of Ulyssess A. Knecht, who died in October 1963.
Surviving are three children, M/Sgt. Hosea Carl Rupert, U.S. Air Force, Forbes Air Base, Kansas; Peter Rupert of. Benton; and Marie, wife of Robert H. Krieger Sr., Sunbury; 14 grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Seidel of Milton and Edna E., wife of Earl F. Harner of Bloomsburg, and a brother, Arthur Davis, also of Bloomsburg.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Dean W. Kriner funeral home, 246 W. Main St., Bloomsburg. Burial will be in the Benton Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 Monday evening.
