Lorene Earley Odom, 92, passed away in her home on August 4, 2021. She was 1 of 9 children born in Ahoskie, NC to the late James and Mae Earley. Lorene was a loving, particular, and classy lady who will be missed by all who knew her. Family was most important to her, and she loved spending time with them. "Your children are your treasures" are words we often heard from her. She enjoyed gardening, both flowers and vegetables, and knitting--specially blankets for her grandchildren. Years of traveling with her sister Nancy and her square dance friends, most of whom predeceased her, were some of her best memories. Lorene had a full, long life surrounded by those whom she loved. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 41 years, William M. Odom and sister and best friend Nancy Carter and sister June Twine. Left to cherish her memory are her 4 children, Joseph Odom (Tamara), Sondra Mulkey (Michael), Dawn Stivers, and Paige Cole; daughter-in-heart, Marlane Brickhouse (Jimmy); 6 siblings, James Earley, Peggy Amato, Fred Earley, Doug Earley, Dianne Miller, and Jerry Earley; 7 grandchildren, Shauna Kale, Eric Mulkey, Azrael Stivers, Ashlee Morgan, Ryan Odom, Michael David Cole, and Kendall Cole; 3 grandchildren-in-heart, James Brickhouse, Michelle Cox, and Matthew Brickhouse; 13 great grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren-in-heart; 1 great, great granddaughter. A graveside service will be held at a to-be-determined date in Rosewood Memorial Park.
