Nona Rains, age 76, of Centerville, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 31st, 2021. She was born on April 19th, 1945, in Barthell, Kentucky, to the late Clyde and Dee Coffey. Her love of the outdoors stemmed from being raised in a coal mining town, with her four brothers and one sister. She worked at the Cumberland Falls State Park as a waitress. It was there she met Myrtle Phillips who introduced her to brother Howard, to whom she was married 54 years. Nona was devoted to her family and enjoyed being a stay at home mom for the first few years of motherhood. When her daughters went to school, she began to work at K-Mart. She was a loyal employee of 25 years and made countless friendships while working there. Two of her closest friends invited her to visit the Dryden Road Pentecostal Church with them. Nona loved the Lord and became a member of Dryden Road Pentecostal Church, faithfully attending for over 43 years. She was involved in Willing Workers, organizing garage sales, developing a church cookbook, making peanut brittle and candy, and any opportunity to help the church. Her biggest blessing was to serve others. You could always find her in the church kitchen preparing everyone's special dish. Her church sisters became family to her. They enjoyed vacations together, monthly dinners, and the lady's retreats.

In addition to her parents, Nona was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Rains; brothers, Ray Coffey and Morris Coffey; a special sister-in-law Myrtle Phillips; and special friends, June Satterfield and Lucille Minton. Nona is survived by her two daughters, Sandy (Cary) Tussey and Janet (Billy) Smith; four grandchildren, Emily (Chris) Saporito, Katie Smith, Blake Tussey, and Candace Smith; brothers, Ted and Pat; sister, Faye; and numerous friends and family members. We will remember her for her generous heart and willingness to help everyone. Her loving spirit will live on with those who knew and loved her.

A visitation at the Dryden Road Pentecostal Church, 3201 Dryden Road, Moraine, Ohio, officiated by Rev. Bernie Sutherland. Burial at Miami Valley Memory Gardens in Centerville, Ohio. Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. 2nd St., Franklin, OH
