Clarence Bennie Bennett, 78, of Lubbock passed away at home surrounded by family Friday, July 30, 2021. He was born July 23, 1943, to Orvil and Della (Clark) Bennett in Carnegie, Oklahoma. Clarence married Grace Limer on August 10, 1963, in Perryton, Texas. He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for several years at AIS Continental Equipment and Plains Machinery before retiring. Clarence enjoyed chili cookoffs, going to the lake, bar-b-queuing, and smoking meats. He especially loved spending time with his family. Clarence was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Calrence was a long time member of the Amarillo Moose Lodge 1361 and Amarillo Elks Lodge 923. He was of the Baptist faith.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 58 years, Grace Bennett; two sons, Robert Bennett and wife Sherree of San Antonio, James "Mike" Bennett and wife Debbi of Lubbock; siblings, Pat Winder and husband Hugh of Huntsville, Richard Bennett of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Deanna Arend and husband Harry of Amarillo; grandchildren, Jacob Bennett of San Antonio, Joshua Bennett of Ft. Worth, Brytton Bennett of Lubbock; great-granddaughter, Lilly Mae Bennett; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Robert and Eldon Bennett.

Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 2, 2021, at Combest Family Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, August 2021 at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
