and great-great- grandmother, Lena Pinnick
passed away into God's
graces after a brief illness
post-surgery on her legs.
She was a dear friend and
neighbor to many in the
Newman community. A
warrior throughout life,
she would have been 92
on August 3, 2021.
She is survived by her daughter and caretaker,
Debora K. Sweeter of Newman, stepdaughter Pam
Thompson of Colorado, nine grandchildren, twelve
great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husbands Edward
Crissen of Indianapolis, Indiana and James L. Pinnick
I of Newman; daughter Alice Wright of Newman; son
Tony Crissen of Castro Valley; son James L. Pinnick, II
of Castro Valley; her parents, and six brothers.
Lena was born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1929 and
moved to California in 1959. Both husbands served in
the U.S. Armed Forces. Lena was a dedicated employee of both Caterpillar Inc. for 15 years and Sunshine
Biscuits for 14 years.
A memorial service will be held at Orestimba Presbyterian Church, where she attended church with her
sweetheart, Ray Caseri, and his family. Memorial and
reception will be on Friday, July 30, 2021, 11am-1pm.
Burial and grave side services are pending arrangement at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward, CA.In lieu of flowers please make donations to her
church benevolent fund.
