Mrs. Fred Schultz Dies Wednesday
Mrs. Fred C. Schultz, Sr., 87, died at her home in the town of Belle Plaine at 3:35 p.m. Wednesday.
The former Mathilda Beversdorf was born in Germany on Dec. 12, 1867, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Julius Beversdorf.
At the age of six she came to Milwaukee and five years later moved to the town of richmond in Shawano County. She lived there until her marriage and lived on a farm in the town of Belle Plaine for the past 68 years.
On May 26, 1887, she was married to Fred C. Schultz at St. Martin's church in the town of Belle Plaine.
She was a member of the St. Martin's Lutheran church and the Ladies' Aid Society. She was the oldest member of the church.
Surviving are 10 children, (Elsie) Mrs. William Teske, (Julia) Mrs. Fred Pahl of Shawano, (Lillie) Mrs. Cleve Guerin of Belle Plaine, (Hattie) Mrs. Carl Redman of Shawano, (Pauline) Mrs. Fred Gonaware of Milwaukee, (Frieda) Mrs. Elmer Stollberg of Milwaukee, (Florence) Mrs. Grover Kruse of Green Bay, Fred of Belle Plaine, (Tillie) Mrs. George Lauters of Shawano, and William of Clintonville. One daughter preceded her in death. There are 48 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren. One brother Albert Beversdorf of Belle Plaine, and four sisters, Mrs. Ed Lightenberg, Mrs. Walter Anderson, Mrs. Harry Meyer and Mrs. Minnie Katzenmeyer, all of Shawano.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Saturday at the St. Martin's Lutheran church of Belle Plaine with Rev. Collins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with six grandsons acting as pallbearers.
Friends may call at the Karth Funeral Home Friday and at the church from noon on Saturday until the time of services.
