James Marlin Smothers, 75, of 7829 Summit, died Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital. Mr. Smothers was born in Mountain Home, Ark., and had lived in this area about 33 years. He was a retired building maintenance supervisor for the Herbert V. Jones Company. He was a Baptist. Mr. Smothers leaves three sons, James W. Smothers, Belton, William Smothers, Kansas City, and Lee Smothers, Roeland Park; a daughter, Mrs. Erma Griefe, Colorado Springs; a sister, Mrs. Sylvia Rand, Mountain Home, and 11 grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Mount Moriah Chapel; burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the chapel.
