Missouri Marriage Record:
Florence Jones
E. S. Land
Marriage Date: 1 June 1935
Marriage Place: Neosho, Newton Co., Missouri

The Neosho Daily News (Neosho Missouri) 20 Aug 1946 Tue p. 4:
The sincerest sympathy is extended to E. S. Land and his children by this community as a unit, in the loss of the mother, Mrs. Florence E. Land, 37 years old, whose death occurred at 1:20 o'clock yesterday afternoon in Sale Memorial Hospital, after an illness of four weeks.
A remark made this morning by a person much younger, than Mrs. Land, expresses the general feeling of the Neosho people, as he said, "I think there is no other person in Neosho who has had the love and respect of everyone that Florence has always had."
Mrs. Land is survived by her husband, E. S. Land, 319 Smith Street; by three children, Marilyn, Stanley, and Patricia, all of the home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Jones of Granby, route 1; three sisters, Mrs. Guy Koger of Wauseon, Ohio, Miss Winifred Jones of Bremerton, Wash., and Mrs. Kenneth Weems of Neosho; and one brother, Robert Jones of Harrison, Ark. also survives.
Mrs. Land had lived in Neosho for 20 years and was a very popular assistant buyer and saleslady in McGinty's ladies' department before her marriage, her excellent taste and judgement delighting her patrons. These, with her combined with her never-failing courtesy, formed the firmest friends for her.
She was a most efficient PTA president, and her devoted interest in her church and its activities, with her outstanding musical talent, made her a valuable member of the First Christian Church.
She has been a loyal friend, a charming wife, and wonderful mother, sister, and daughter.
The body will lie in state in Bigham's Chapel until one o'clock. Pallbearers will be taken to the First Christian Church where funeral services will be conducted by the pastor, Rev. E. A. Landolt, at 2:30 o'clock. Pallbearers will be Leonard Smith, Ralph Tennis, Charles McConnell, Herbert Douglas, Hersel Caldwell, and Martin Mills.
Burial will be in the I. O. O. F. Cemetery here.
